LOOKIN' OUT MY BACK DOOR

Was all I could do yesterday. I had three "Back Door Men" on my one and only "Sweet Escape" out of my upper apartment of the Heritage house I live in, replacing my Big Deck..

Due to the rain and winds I had both Thursday and today, only being able to look out my back door is all I can do until Monday. Even though they got the deck itself built, both the railings along with new back stairs so I can leave my apartment are now scheduled for Monday weather permitting..

I have a few before and after photos I took in the last few days along with some older photos with no bushes, but flowers instead I usually have every late spring/summer..

So: How Big Is Your Deck?..lol.

If you have one, when was the last time that Hard Wood was replaced?..lol.

Do you have your own outdoor patio or deck to enjoy in the summer months?

  1. That looks like they're doing a good job! Here's hoping it's done soon.

We don't have a deck, we have cement porches in the front and back, though.

  2. It is so much sturdier and it needed replacing as I have no idea how long or when it was built. I have lived here for 14 years myself. Any patio be it cement or wood to be able to relax and enjoy in the warmth is a nice escape to have my friend..

  4. The deck out our front door would need to be replaced soon if I was not trying to find a contractor to build a new house and thus eliminate the need for the deck. It was built close to 45 years ago (I think, we have been here 35 years.) It was built with 2 by treated lumber (38 mm thick) and for the most part is still structurally okay.

Our immediate view is the lawn. Then our hay and pasture followed by crop fields that are either corn (maize) or soybeans.

    1. You had me at hay and pasture as your view would be spectacular out in the country. I wish you well in finding a contractor to build your new house..

  5. My previous home had a nice deck but getting it rebuilt was a lot of drama! (too much for a comment). The current home has a brick paver patio, which is nice because it doesn't have to be periodically stained. : )

    1. Very true with having not to stain the brick patios over having a wood one..

  6. No deck at my place. Hell, we barely have a yard, which isn't uncommon here in the Land of the Rising Sun, where real estate is premium.
The kid was talking about expanding the veranda and opening up the kid's room so he'll have a place to practice his golf swings. Uh, no.

  7. Golf swings eh!..lol. I have no doubt land is at a premium there. Nice you have a verandah though to be able to enjoy..

  8. A veranda is basically for hanging laundry. That's where the washing machine is placed at some apartments. It's usually too narrow to put out a table and chair.

    1. Boy, space there is truly at a premium than. Sounds like my sisters apartment out in B.C.
